Accessibility Statement

Alessandro Bigatti is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, whatever technology or way of browsing they use.

Approach

During design and development, particular care went into these areas:

  • Keyboard navigation: every link and control can be reached with the Tab key. The first one is “Skip to content”, which jumps past the menu. In the mobile menu, in the experience details and in enlarged photos, navigation stays inside while they are open, and the Esc key closes them.
  • Visible focus: the element selected with the keyboard is always highlighted by an outline.
  • Structure: every page has a header, a main content area and a footer, with headings in order and the language of the text declared.
  • Text alternatives: images that are part of the content are described; purely decorative ones, and the repetitions used for animations, are ignored by screen readers. Links that open a new tab say so.
  • Contrast: text colours are chosen to stay easy to read against the background.
  • Motion: if the reduce motion setting is on in your system, animations stop or are simplified and videos start paused. Videos always have controls to pause them and to turn the sound on.
  • Transparency: if the reduce transparency setting is on in your system, the main glass surfaces become solid.
  • Screens and zoom: the site adapts to phones, tablets and computers, and you can zoom in.

Reference standard

This website has been designed with the goal of following, where applicable, WCAG 2.2 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) Level AA criteria. This is not a certification: checks were carried out during development, browsing with the keyboard and with the system’s accessibility settings.

Limitations

Despite the checks carried out, there may be accessibility limitations or issues that haven’t been identified yet. Content hosted on other services, such as the linked social profiles and video platforms, depends on the accessibility of those services.

Feedback
